Happy Holidays from Long Beach Lodge

Dear Valued Guests and Friends,

With the holiday season upon us, I  reflect on all the Christmases and New Years past. I often reflect on John Lennon’s song, Happy Xmas, from another more innocent time.

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
A new one just begun.

While the years seem to pass, at an ever increasing speed, it is a great time of year to reflect on our many Christmases, maybe to think about family and friends with whom we shared those special times. Also, I think, it's a time to look forward to the new year and to be thankful for all our blessings.

At the resort we have had another wonderful year welcoming both new and regular guests, people who have become our friends. We are humbled to be included, once again, on TripAdvisors top 25 hotels and resorts in Canada. Quite an accomplishment considering that they review over 8500 properties in the country.

A huge part of our ongoing success is due to our incredible staff. I am proud of our friendly, knowledgeable and helpful team members, who genuinely love making each guest experience the best it can be, continually trying to exceed expectations.

As I often mention, the resort has become a favourite gathering place for so many guests wishing to celebrate very special family occasions and for this honour, we are truly grateful. Whether it is a wedding, birthday, reunion or anniversary, we love to be involved and to assist in all these wonderful and memorable events.

This year we saw our Chef Ian Riddick leave after a number of very good years and our new Chef Shaun Snelling arrived. Other great people have joined our team as well and we are very thankful that they choose us.

After our annual maintenance closure we will be ready for another year. Please expect a number upgrades and changes, as we continue to “polish the apple!"

If you have visited us over the holidays previously, you will know what a special time it is at the resort. Outside, Christmas lights will be welcoming and inside, the lodge will be beautifully decked out and a fire will be crackling in the great room hearth. Chef Shaun and his team will be preparing succulent holiday feasts. Andre, at the bar, will be creating some very imaginative holiday cheer!

Diane and I wish to thank both our faithful guests, who return year after year and also to all the new guests who have visited this past year. Please know that we take nothing for granted and are incredibly grateful for your patronage. As the current caretakers, we believe that we have a responsibility to continually care for our property and do what we can to improve our guest's experience. We love to hear from our guests who write to us directly or comment through TripAdvisor. Please know that I respond to all direct mail and every guest comment, your feedback is always very much appreciated by both me and our staff.

Our very best wishes for the holidays and the New Year, let’s hope it is a good one!

Sincerely,

Tim, Diane, Max & Maisy Hackett
